The rooms behind the sloping roof over the garage is our guest bedroom and bathroom.  If you visit us, chances are you will stay there.  Unless there is no room at the inn.

Our patio door sitting in the middle of the garage.

Stairs leading up to the 2nd floor.

Front door

Ceiling over the dining room

The support for the chimney in it's proper location.  They haven't fixed the framing on the interior yet.

The pair of windows over the front door will be my office.  The windows above the dining room will be our nursery someday.  The half-framed room barely visible in the upper right hand corner will be the master bedroom.

This is a view looking in through what will become our front door.  The area currently occupied by the large plastic bag will be our coat closet and behind that will be the powder room.  The window in the background will be in the great room.

This area will contain stair cases to reach the basement as well as the second floor.

The back of the great room.  The framing between the windows is where they incorrectly started installing the fireplace.  This should be a flat wall.  The fireplace should be on the wall to the right of the current view.

Looking from the great room into the kitchen.  The window will be above the kitchen sink.  The window in the background will be in the laundry room.

Now we're between the kitchen and the great room.  The large opening will be our patio door.  The thing that is hard to see from this picture is that the patio door is “bumped out” two feet from the rest of the rear elevation.

A view of the powder room with the coat closet and front door beyond.

Side elevation showing the window in the basement staircase.

Okay.  I'm really muddy at this point.  It's raining and I'm trying my best to keep the camera dry.  This rear elevation shows that the work on the fireplace was more extensive than we thought from the internal view.  That support will have to be relocated somehow.  This view does show the two foot dinette bump-out more clearly than the interior view.

Close up of the incorrectly placed chimney support.

Front elevation.  The two windows are part of the dining room.  The garage is on the left and the front door is at center.

Another front view.

View from the other side.  The red object to the left holds foundation forms for the house being built next to ours.

Rob took these pictures while we were on vacation.  One of the shots alerted us to the fact that our fireplace is being installed on the wrong wall.  Fortunately, we found it early enough that it shouldn't be too much hassle to get fixed.

Last night, following our annual trip to Cincinnati for Easter, we stopped by the construction site.  The unmistakable sign that construction is going to start very soon was the porta-potty that has been placed on the area soon to be our front lawn.  If there were a formula for efficiency of home building, I imagine that proximity to the facilities would be a major component, so this is good news I guess.  We're scheduled to start digging this Wednesday assuming the weather improves and the building permit comes through.  I'll have pictures up soon.
